Class Goal: Develop empathy, explore animal skills, and express emotions and creativity through science and art activities.

Date: Day 1

3. Representar emociones y aprendizajes mediante actividades creativas.

Vocabulary:

- Courage

- Forest

- Friendship

- Overcoming

- Wings

 EXPLORATION MOMENT

1. Listening to the story and observing the forest: Read the story of Bruno, the flying bunny. As the story progresses, use pictures of the forest and the animals that live there for students to visualize.

Ask:

  • What animals live in the forest?
  • How do they help each other?”

2. Reflection and comparison questions:

  • “What characteristics do the rabbit, the turtle, and the toad have?
  • How are they alike and how are they different?”
  • Relate the natural abilities of these animals to how Bruno uses his “wings” (ears) to fly.

STRUCTURING MOMENT

  1. Students are organized into small groups to act out forest scenes in which each “acts” as an animal with unique abilities. Each group demonstrates how they help each other in a specific situation (e.g., foraging for food or helping a friend).
  2. Students will be presented with pictures or stuffed animals such as rabbits, squirrels, turtles and toads.
  3. Each child will talk about the special abilities of each and how they survive in the forest.
  4. After discussing the above, they should perform a mini-experiment where they should simulate flight using paper and string, allowing them to observe for themselves how lighter objects can “fly” or soar easily.
  5. Each child will receive a piece of paper and art materials (colors, stickers, etc.) to create “wings” to represent their special abilities.
  6. Then, in pairs, each child shares his or her creation and explains how those special wings would help him or her, encouraging imagination and self-expression.

EVALUATION MOMENT

1.Sitting in a circle, each student shares something they learned about the animals in the forest and a situation in which they felt like Bruno, facing a fear or helping a friend.

2. Each child places his or her drawing of “special wings” on a poster board representing a forest, forming a mural that includes the creations and reflects
