LESSON 2

Class Title: *Building Value with Bruno*

Class Topic: Discovering Our Strengths

Class Objective: To help students identify their personal strengths and learn how to use them to face challenges through interactive activities.

Date:2

Vocabulary: Strength, challenge, ability, bravery, courage, support, help, overcome.

EXPLORATION TIME :

1. Welcome and Contextualizing Questions:

Greet the children and pose questions about the class topic:

- “What skills do you think Bruno has in the story?”

- “Which of those skills do they think they would like to have?”

- “How do they think they could use that skill to help others?”

2. Q&A Game:

Organize a small dynamic where children must name a skill or strength they have and think of a challenge they could overcome with it.

STRUCTURING MOMENT:

1. Bruno's presentation:

Read an excerpt from the story of A Flight of Courage that describes Bruno's strengths. Pause to discuss how Bruno uses his skills to overcome obstacles.

2.Strengths and Skills Video:

Show a short video that illustrates the importance of strengths and how they can be applied to face fears or challenges. You can choose a narrative or animated type of video to capture their attention.

3. Matching Activity:

Distribute cards with pictures of animals or superheroes and cards with descriptions of strengths (e.g., “bravery,” “friendship,” “intelligence”). Students should match each strength with the animal or character that best describes the character.

TIME OF EXECUTION:

1. Start:

Begin with a reflection activity. Ask, “What would you do if you had a special skill, like Bruno? How would you help others with that skill?”

Children should share their answers in small groups.

2.Development:

- Dramatization and games: In small groups, students role-play situations where they have to use a skill or strength (e.g., being brave in the face of a fear). The other classmates must guess what strength they are demonstrating.

- Teamwork: Students should work together to create a story in which a character (inspired by Bruno) uses a strength to help others.

3.Closing:

Reflect on how everyone has different strengths and how we can use them to face our own fears or challenges. Students should briefly share one way they can use their skills in everyday life.

EVALUATION TIME:

- Strengths Mural:

Each child selects a strength (real or imaginary) that they would like to have. They should write a brief description in English of that strength, its characteristics, and how they would use it to help others.

- Children can draw or cut out pictures that represent their strength and paste it on a mural to be displayed in the classroom.

- At the end, each child presents his or her strength to the group, explaining how he or she would help others.
