LESSON 4
Class title: science wings
Class topic: Understanding animals that fly
Class Goal:To have students understand how some animals use their wings to fly and become familiar with the characteristics that allow them to do so.
Date: 4
Vocabulary: Wings, flying, feathers, animals.
EXPLORATION MOMENT:
1. Show pictures of different animals that fly (birds, butterflies, bats).2. Ask, "How are these animals similar to Bruno, what do they have in common?"
STRUCTURING MOMENT
1. Conduct a classification activity in which students divide animals into two categories: those that can fly and those that cannot.
2. Create models of paper wings and see who can make them "fly" (like a kind of paper airplane) to understand aerodynamics.
TIME OF EXECUTION:
1. materials and images of animals will be handed out to divide the students into two groups (the flying and the non-flying), and help them in the creation of paper wings, explaining how their design can affect in flight.2. Observe and ask questions to encourage students to reflect on how their wing models work and to understand the characteristics that allow certain animals to fly.
EVALUATION MOMENT:
- Observe if students can identify and classify flying animals.
- Students will share their wing models and explain why some animals fly and others don't.
